Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 19º to 24º C. (66º to 77º F).
Semi-hardwood tip cuttings taken during summer apply bottom heat.

Note:
This plant requires reliable moisture as it will soon die in drought conditions. It is also very cold or frost sensitive and requires a wind protected position. Prune lightly as the plant recovers slowly only hard prune if the plant wilts.


Botanic information
Leaf: The light green imparipinate leaves have up to 10-pairs of leaflets and a single larger terminal leaflet. The almost sessile oblong leaflets are up to 76mm (3in) long by 30mm (1?in) wide with pointed serrated margins. The apex is acute and on the underside the reddish mid rib is hairy. The branchlets, petiole and the new leaves are covered in short brown tomentose. The new growth is reddish and the leaf-like stipules are shed.

Flower: The tiny cream unisexual sessile stellate flowers have petals that are tinged in red on the underside and long exserted stamens. They are arranged in a dense compound panicle that is up to 150mm (6in) long and appears during spring.

Fruit: The sepals and style persists on the tiny silky capsule. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
