Botanic information
Leaf: The leaf is ovate to broad lanceolate with an obtuse apex and a short petiole. The margins are tinged in red and the underside is dull light green. They are arranged densely towards the end of the branchlets.

Flower: The whitish-pink purpled veined urceolate flowers have 5-fused petals that form a 5-angular tube that flares at the opening. The red calyx has 5-teeth with a peduncle up to 15mm (?in) longand the flowers are arranged in a pendant umbel that appears during summer.

Fruit: The small berries contain numerous seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
