Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.
Soft tip or semi hardwood cuttings from summer to autumn.


Botanic information
Leaf: The broad ovate leaves have a cordate base and an acute apex. The margin are serrate to dentate and the petiole a short. The upper surface is dark green with a quilted appearance and the underside is purplish with a prominent venation.

Flower: The small blue tubular 2-lipped flowers have a pedestal to 7 mm (¥ in) long and are arranged in a terminal panicle above the foliage, appearing from spring to early summer.

Fruit: The tiny fruit is composed of 4 nutlets and the small seeds are not commonly used and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
