Propagation
Surface sow fresh seed during spring in a well-drained media, and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out and pot up when they are large enough to handle.

Soft tip or semi-hardwood cuttings during late summer to early winter and apply bottom heat.


Botanic information
Leaf: The dark to bright green leaves are ovate to obovate with a quilted upper surface that is suffused in a dark bronze colour that radiates out from the mid rib towards the pointed serrated margin. The leaf is covered in fine pubescence and is almost sessile.

Flower: The tiny cyathiform flowers have 3-4 tepals. The male flowers are arranged at the base of the branches and the female are arranged in a compact axillary cyme that appears duing early summer.

Fruit: The tint fruit is tiny achenes (seeds) that are not commonly used and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.


Culture
This plant requires temperatures above 12ºC (55ºF) during winter and placed in bright indirect light. It is an easy plant to grow and propagate.

Watering
Water regularly during summer allowing the soil too become partially dry before re-watering.
In winter use tepid water more sparingly. Do not allow the soil to become wet.

Humidity
During summer mist the leaves during daylight regularly to maintain a humid environment.

Re-potduring spring but in some countries Pilea cadiereiis regarded as an annual.
