Propagation
Soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during late spring to early summer.
Division of the clump during spring.
Note:
Care should be taken as the foliage is poisonous to animals if ingested.
Botanic information
Leaf: The mid green reniform leaves have a cordate base and a long petiole. The margin is evenly scalloped and the variegated form is marbled in white.
Flower: The 2-lipped bisexual tubulate flowers have an erect upper lip and the lower lip is divided into 3-lobes. They are arranged in whorls of 4 to 6 in the leaf axils and appear during summer.
Fruit: The fruit consists of 4-glaborous nutlets. The small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
