Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 18º to 21º C. (64º to 75º F). Seedling varieation is common.
Take semi hardwood cuttings during early summer and placed in a well drained media on a misting bench.
Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy dark green imparipinnate leaves have 3-5 broad-elliptical to broad-ovate leaflets that are up to 125 mm (5 in) long by 80 mm (3? in) wide and the terminal leaflet is larger. The petiolule are up to 7 mm (¥ in) long and the stout petiole is up to 75 mm (3 in) long. The entire margins are undulating and the apex is acute.
Flower: The creamy-white tubulate flowers are 2-lipped with the lower lip entire and the upper divided into 4-lobes that are tomentose on the outer surface. The green tubulate calyx has 3-5 lobes and the pedicle is up to 10 mm (? in) long. There are up to 30-flowers arranged in a corymbose compound cyme on a peduncle up to 30mm (1? in) long and appear directly from the stem from autumn to early winter. The flowers are pollinated by bats, birds or insects.
Fruit: The woody cylindrical capsule is up to 35 mm (1? in) wide and splits longitudinally from the base and forms 2 boat-shaped valves. The flattened winged seeds are 25mm (1 in) long by 10mm (? in) wide and are arranged densely in the capsule. The small seeds are viable but the plant can be reproduced vegetatively.
