Soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during late spring and semi hardwood cuttings taken during late summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The reniform leaves are pubescent on the upper surface and have a cordate base. The margin is serrated with 2 to 3 lobes on each side. The slendar petiole is covered in whitish pubescence and is up to 300mm (1ft) long.
Flower: The flowers are expanded tubulate with larger upper pale pink petals having a dark pink spot and veins. The calyx is densely pubescent and the flowers are arranged in a terminal umbel with 4 to 9 blooms on a long pedicle. They appear during spring.
Fruit: The tiny capsule is an indehiscent schizocarp with a tapering beak, covered in fine hairs and containing multiple carpels.The tiny seedsare dispersed by wind and are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
