Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 18º to 21º C. (64º to 75º F).
Semi-hardwood tip cuttings taken during summer apply bottom heat.
Botanic information
Leaf: The oblong leaves are dark glossy green with obvious pale green mid rib and veins. The apex is acute and the petiole is up to 350mm (14in) long. The underside is light green and the leaves are arranged alternately along the stems or clustered at the end of the branches.
Flower: The female and male cyathiform flowers are 4 to 5-merous and are arranged in an erect terminal panicle that is up to 450mm (1½ft) long on different trees (dioecious). They appear during spring.
Fruit: The fleshy globose drupe is green maturing to black and may take up to 12 months to appears on female trees. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
