Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.

Soft tip or semi hardwood cuttings taken from summer to autumn.


Botanic information
Leaf: The mid green thick textured broad-ovate leaves have a crenate to dentate margin and a short petiole. They are arranged in opposite pairs along the greenish stems.

Flower: The small lavender blue 2-lipped tubulate flowers are arranged in a short dense terminal spike and are associated with purplish bracts that are shed as the flower develops. They appear from late spring to early summer.

Fruit: The small fruit is composed of 4 nutlets and the tiny seeds are not commonly used and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
