Propagation
Sow seed when ripe in a well-drained media. Seeds require scarification by nicking the seed coat and soaking in water for 24 hours prior to sowing.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green trifoliate leaves may be simple or have 3-ovate leathery textured leaflets. The apex is obtuse-mucronate and the petiole is short.
Flower: The elongated velvety black papillionate flowers have a reflexed standard that is bright yellow and the flowers are arranged in a one-sided axillary raceme that is up to 250 mm (9µ in)long. They appear during spring.
Fruit: The light brown pod is slightly constricted between the hard coated seeds and is covered in fine pubescence.
