Propagation
Surface sow fresh seeds in flats with a sand peat or sphagnum mix and prick out when large enough to handle. Plant out the following year.

Soft tip or semi-hardwood cuttings taken from spring to summer and placed under glass or layering during late summer. Cultivars may be veneer grafted onto species root stocks.

All parts of this plant are toxic and if ingested it will causing stomach upset and or vomiting.


Botanic information
Leaf: The oblong to elliptical leathery texture leaves have an obtuse apex and a short pale green petiole. They are arranged in opposite pairs or in whorls of three. Colour varies from dark to bright green or bluish green.

Flower: The small broad-campanulate flowers consist of 5-petals with 10 stamens and have 10-pouches that hold the anthers under tension until they discharge their pollen. They are arranged in a lateral axillary corymb appearing from late spring to early summer.

Fruit: The tiny 5-celled dehiscent capsule contains numerous fine seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
