Propagation
Sow seeds when ripe and place in a cold frame till germination occurs. Prick out when large enough to handle and pot up.
Division of the clump during spring.


Botanic information
Leaf: The mid green sessile lanceolate to spathulate leaves clasps the stem with the stipules absent. The upper and lower surface is densely covered in whitish hairs and the soft textured leaf has an acute apex.

Flower: The white to pink salverform flowers have 5-toothed calyx and five, 2-lobed petals with 10-stamens. There are 4 to 10 flowers arranged in a loose rounded cyme that appears terminally above the foliage from spring to summer.

Fruit: The tiny 5-toothed capsule is enclosed by the persistent calyx and contains the numerous seeds that are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
