Sow fresh seed during autumn in pots and in cold climates place in a cold frame to germinate.


Botanic information
Leaf: The variable phylloclade (leaf) is rhomboid to spathulate or elliptical to obovate with numerous lobes. The apex is obtuse to acute and the phylloclade are arranged oppositely or sometimes alternately, crowded towards the end of the branchlets.

Flower: There are 2-5 tiny cylindrical male strobili that appear in a terminal cluster and the female forms a globose heads rarely solitary at the base of the phylloclade with red fleshy scales. They appear on the same plant (monoecious) during spring.

Fruit: The ovoid nut-like cones has seeds that are compressed and exserted pass the white cupule and are up to 3mm (? in) long.
