Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring in deep trays or pots and maintain a temperature of 18º to 21º C. (64º to 75º F).

Semi-hardwood tip cuttings taken during summer apply bottom heat.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery textured leaves are elliptical-oblong to obovate with an obtuse apex and slightly recurved margins. The upper surface is glossy green and the underside is pale green. It has a short petiole that extends to a light green mid rib.

Flower: The tiny greenish bisexual cyathiform flower have 5-rounded sepals and 5-obovate petals and has a short pedicle. They are arranged in a terminal panicle that is up to 200mm (7µin) long with a short peduncle and appear from spring to early summer.

Fruit: The foul-smelling fleshy ovoid drupe is bright orange when ripe. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
The fruit is poisonous to humans but is eaten by birds and cattle.
