Propagation
Sow fresh seeds in containers during autumn and place in an open frame to germinate. Seedling variation is common.

Semi-hardwood cuttings taken during summer.


Botanic information
Leaf: The broad-ovate leaves are glossy green on the upper surface and the underside is covered in grey pubescence. It has an obtuse apex with undulating margins and petiole is short.

Flower: The tiny salverform flowers have 5-sepals and petals and arranged in a terminal panicle that is up to 50 mm (2in) long and appears during late spring.

Fruit: The small 3-lobed capsule contains the numerous seeds thatare viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
