Propagation
Stratify seeds and sow during spring.
Soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during late spring and semi hardwood cuttings taken during late summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The mid green leaves are oblong to ovate with silky red-brown tomentose on the underside. The apex is obtuse with a small point and the petiole is up to 50mm (2in) long.
Flower: The pendant cyathiform flower has pinkish sepals and white petals with a cluster of crimson stamens in the centre. They appear solitary from late spring to early summer.
Fruit: The follicle is composed aggregated carpels and has a cone-like appearance but is not normally seenand the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
