Propagation
Sow fresh seeds in containers and place in a cold frame during autumn. The seeds may require stratification prior to sowing and germination can take up to 12 months.

Take semi-hardwood cuttings during early summer.
Division of suckers from the parent plant from mid to late winter.

Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green narrow ovate to oblanceolate leaves are up to 150 mm (6 in) long by 55 mm (2? in) wide with an acute apex and a cuneate base. The petiole is up to 8 mm (? in) long and the underside is grey green and covered in silky hairs.

Flower: The fragrant yellow tubulate flowers are up to 20 mm () long with 4-silky elliptical calyx lobes that are white on the outside and yellow inside. There are 25-50 arranged in a nodding terminal umbel that is up to 50 mm (2 in) wide and appear before the foliage from late winter to early spring.

Fruit: The dry ellipsoid drupe is 8 mm (? in) long by 4 mm (? in) wide and contains several seeds. The small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
