Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during spring. The seeds require scarification by nicking the seed coat and soaking in water for 24 hours prior to sowing.
Botanic information
Leaf: The pinnate leaves have 4 to 12 ovate to obovate leaflets that are up to 80 mm (3? in) long with an acute apex and a short stalk. The petiole is up to 80 mm (3? in) long and are arranged alternately along the stems.
Flower: The bisexual papillionate flowers have 5-green sepals and 5-spreading ovate petals. It has 10-stamens with reddish-brown anthers and the flowers are arranged in a pendant raceme up to 200 mm (7µ in) long and appears during spring.
Fruit: The cylindrical slightly flattened dark brown pod has prominent transverse ribs and contains numerous disk-shaped hard coated seeds that have a papery outer layer.
