Propagation
Surface sow seeds immediately after collecting and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out when large enough to handle and pot up.


Botanic information
Leaf: The glabrous leaves are oblong to narrow-ovate with an acuminate apex. The surface texture is leathery with prominent pinnate venation and the short petiole is swollen where it joins the leaf blade. They have finely serrated margin and is dull green on the underside.

Flower: The small petal-less flowers have 5-pointed sepals to 7mm (¥in) longthat become reddish after flowering. They are arranged in a dense axillary corymbose-cyme that appears during early summer.

Fruit: During the fruiting period the sepals turn reddish and become enlarged surrounding the brown nut.
