Propagation
Surface sow seeds immediately after collecting and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out when large enough to handle and pot up.
Semi hardwood cuttings taken during summer and placed on a misting bench.
General pruning information
This plant will not regenerate from a hard prune into old wood but respond from a light trim directly after flowering.
Botanic information
Leaf: The oblong to obovate leathery leaf is up to 4mm (?in) wide with an obtuse to acute apex. The margins are reddish when young and the petiole is short.
Flower: The rotate flowers have 5-petals and sepals with a villous floral tube. They are arranged in an axillary cluster along the stems and appear from late winter to early spring.
Fruit: The small woody urn shaped capsule is persistent on the plant but the tiny seeds are not retained.The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
