Propagation
Division of the clump (rhizome) during spring with 3 to 4 canes planted in a sandy medium and placed in a humid position to establish then plant out or plant in situ in warm climates.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are broad-lanceolate up to 60mm (2?in) wide with an abruptly acuminate apex and a short petiole.The upper glossy green surface is glabrous with 12 to 18 nerves and the underside is minutely pubescent. The margin withers and turn an attractive white during winter and is a feature of the plant. The nodes are 115mm (4½in) apart.

Flower: Flowers are not normally produced.

Fruit: The fruit is not commonly seen and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
