Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during autumn and place in a cold frame to germinate.

Soft tip to semi hardwood cuttings taken from late spring to early summer and placed in a humid environment. Rooting occurs within 6 to 10 weeks.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery textured leaves are oblong to obovate up to 88 mm wide (3½ in) with an abrupt acuminate apex and a yellowish petiole up to 25 mm long. The upper surface is glossy dark green and the underside is a yellowish green.

Flower: The small white campanulate flowers have 5-sepals and 5-petals and are arranged in a flattened terminal corymbose panicle that appears during spring.

Fruit: The globose berry-like red to black pome is arranged in panicles. The fruit can persist on the planted until the following spring and contains numerous seeds that are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
