Propagation

Soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during the growing period. Plant up in early spring with the new growth.
Division of the clump (rhizome) during early spring. This plant is easy to transplant.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are obovate-oval to oblong with small serrations along the margins and has an uneven sub-cordate base. The 20mm (µin) long petiole is glabrous and the apex is acute. It has a glaucous underside that is pubescent, particularly along the veins. The stalked buds are pale glossy green.
Flower: The small lemon-yellow campanulate flowers have 5-sepals, petals and stamens and are arranged in a pendant raceme up to 80mm (3in) long. They appear during spring.
Fruit: The small 2-beaked dehiscent capsule is pubescent and has 2-cells each containing 2-glossy black seeds. The small seeds are viable but may be difficult to germinate so the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
