Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 19º to 27º C. (66º to 81º F).
Divide the suckers during spring.

Botanic information
Leaf: The grey green linear leaves taper at both ends and are up to 40mm (1? in) wide with a spiny-tipped long acuminate apex. The entire margin has a shredded appearance with course curly fibres and the leaves are upright at first then radiate outwards.

Flower: The creamy-white waxy campanulate flowers have 3- acute to acuminate petals that are ovate -lanceolate and are up to 40mm (1? in) long by 25mm (1 in) wide. The 3-elliptical sepals are similar and both are glaborous. They have 6- stamens with small yellow anthers and the superior ovary is greenish-white. They have a pedicle up to 10mm (? in) long and are arranged in a terminal panicle that is held above the foliage on a scape that is up to 3m (10 ft) tall. They appear from spring to midsummer but may not occur every year.

Fruit: The oblong pointed fleshy 6-angle dehiscent capsule contains numerous dark flat seeds that are up to 6mm (¥ in) long. The seeds are viable but the plant can be reproduced vegetatively.
