Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring in pots and in cold climates place in a cold frame to germinate.
Stem cuttings of non-flowering shoots during the growing period.

If ingested it may cause stomach upset and contact with the sap may cause skin irritation.
Botanic information
Leaf: The bipinnate to tripinnate leaves have 7-variable leaflets that are oblong to elliptical or obovate with a leathery texture aand are up to 100mm (4in) long. The apex is long acuminate and the undulating margin is serrated.
Flower: The tiny tubulate flowers have perianth segments that are united at the base forming a tube and expand at the apex. The base of the filaments form a yellow tube that is united to the perianth and the ovary has 5-cells.
In bud the flowers are scarlet and open to pink and are arranged in an erect flattened terminal cyme that is up to 120 mm (4µ in)wide and appear throughout summer.
Fruit: The small red-black globular berry has a fleshy exocarp and contains 4-6 seeds that are viable but the plant can be reproduced vegetatively.
