Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification (peeling treatment).
Seedlings may be grafted onto Grevillea robustaroot stock.

Semi hardwood cuttings taken during spring or mid autumn and apply bottom heat.


Botanic information
Leaf: The broad-ovate leaves are divided 2 to 3 times (bipinnatisect) into rigid linear, pungent lobes that are up to 15 mm (? in)long. The margins are revolute and enclosed the lower surface of the leaf blade up to the prominent mid-vein. The petiole a short and be leaf rachis is curved.

Flower: The small almost sessile tubulate flowers have curled yellow to greyish perianth segments up to 9mm (? in) long and a protruding maroon-black style is up to 20mm (µin) long. The flowers are arranged in an ascending one sided terminal, villous raceme up to 88mm (3½ in) long and appear from winter to summer but may throughout the year in warm regions and are bird pollinated.

Fruit: The ellipsoidal follicle is up to 9mm (? in) wide with a reddish-brown silky pericarp and contains a single elliptical seed to 9mm (? in) long with a short apical wing. The small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
