Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 19º to 24º C. (66º to 77º F).
Soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during spring and semi hardwood cuttings taken during summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery textured dark green leaves are oblanceolate to oblong with an obtuse to mucronate apex and slightly cuneate base.
Flower: The small cyathiform flower has 5-petal-like sepals and up to 10-petals surrounding a yellow-green centre that becomes crimson. They are solitary in the leaf axils or arranged in small clusters appearing profusely towards the end of the branchlets form late winter to early spring. The flower changes from white to pink-red with age.
Fruit: The small woody nut-like capsule is accompanied by the persistent calyx. The small seeds are viable but the plant may be easily reproduced vegetatively.
