Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification (peeling treatment).
Botanic information
Leaf: There are no leaves produced on this plant but spine-like stems appear on the branches.
Flower: The tiny bright yellow tubulate flowers are arranged in ball-like cluster with a long pedicle. They appear solitary in axils along the stems, profusely during spring.
Fruit: The purplish-grey pods are leathery and slightly constricted between the seeds.
