Propagation
Sow seed when ripe in pots and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).
Cuttings taken during summer apply bottom heat.
Note:
This plant is not commonly cultivated and may be difficult to obtain requiring a specialist nursery.
General pruning information
This plant does not regenerate from a hard prune into old wood but respond from a light trim directly after flowering.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark bronze green leaves are narrow elliptical to oblanceolate with an acute to acuminate apex and a short petiole.
Flower: The small rotate flowers havea smooth calyx tube and 5-obovate petals with the stamens are arranged in bundles of 7 to 9 around the green receptacle. The flowers appear solitary in the upper leaf axils abundantly during early to mid summer.
Fruit: The woody domed persistent capsule has up to 5-cells and contains numerous fine seeds. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
