Propagation
Sow fresh seeds when ripe in a well-drained mediaand maintain a temperature of 16º to 27º C. (61º to 81º F).


Botanic information
Leaf: (5½ in) long. The petiole is up to 50 mm (2 in) long and the leaf underside is covered in silvery grey-green minute scales. The apex is acuminate and the mid vein is a raised on the upper surface. The young foliage has a coppery sheen and is a feature of the tree.

Flower: The campanulate to rotate male and female flowers have no petals and 4-5 lobes with a short pedestal. The male flower has 8 -10 stamens that are in a whorl towards the apex of column.

The female flowers have up to 6-carpels arranged in whorl with sterile anthers at the base. The flowers are arranged in a loose panicle and the flowering and fruiting period may vary in tropical climates but normally occurs during early spring.

Fruit: The small brown one seeded samara have a dry-brown papery wing at one end that is up to 50 mm (2 in) long and is singular or arranged in clusters of 2 to 4.
