Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are ovate to elliptical, up to 45 mm (1µ in) wide with an acuminate apex and petiole is up to 9 mm (? in) long. The dark green upper surface is strongly 3-veined from the base and has distinct oil glands. The pale green underside is a densely pubescent.
Flower: The small crateriform flowers have sepals that are up to 3 mm (2/16 in) long and petals up to 6 mm (¥ in) diameter. The stamens and style are up to 5 mm (? in)long. They are arranged in clusters of 1-3 in the leaf axils and appear during autumn.
Fruit: The small globose brown-red berry matures black and contains numerous small seeds. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
