Botanic information
Leaf: The tiny dark green scale leaves are narrow with an obtuse apex and whitish margins. They are arranged in whorls of 3 and lay flat along the branchlets.
Flower: The catkin-like male and woody female cones appear on the same plant (monoecious) during spring.
Fruit: The cone is small and globular with woody scales and a short stalk. It contains winged seeds.
