Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification (peeling treatment).

Semi hardwood cuttings taken during summer and apply bottom heat.

Pruning
Tolerates a light prune after flowering back to a node, remove any dead wood back to the collar. If there is insufficient light towards the base of the tree prune the crown to allow the light in. The plants tend to be easily damaged by wind or borers, and damaged material should be removed.


Botanic information
Leaf: The stiff dark green phyllodes are linear to lanceolate up to 7mm (¥in) wide with several conspicuous veins and are covered in light or dense woolly hairs. The apex is acute terminating in a curved point and the base is tapering.

Flower: The tiny tubulate flowers are arranged in an elongated ball-like cluster with a short pedicle. The clusters are arranged solitary or in pairs in the leaf axils along the stems and appear during early spring.

Fruit: The curly dark brown pods are covered in dense pubescence and are up to 6mm (¥in) wide. It has thickened margins and is slightly constricted between the seeds. The oblong seeds are up to 6mm (¥in) long with a short stalk that thickens to a yellow-white aril.
