Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification (peeling treatment).

Pruning
Tolerates a light prune after flowering back to a node, remove any dead wood back to the collar. If there is insufficient light towards the base of the tree prune the crown to allow the light in. The plants tend to be easily damaged by wind or borers, and damaged material should be removed.


Botanic information
Leaf: The blue green phyllodes are oblong-oval up to 20mm (µin) wide with an offset mid-nerve. The apex is obtuse to mucronate and the petiole is 4mm (?in) long. Both the petiole and the young branchlets have short pubescence.

Flower: There are 15 to 25 tiny tubulate flowers arranged in a ball-like cluster with a pedicel up to 4mm (?in) long. There are 10 to 30 flower heads that appear in an axillary racemes that is up to 90mm (3½in) long and appears from late winter to early spring.

Fruit: The straight dark brown pod is flattened and constructed between the seeds and up to 10mm (?in) wide. The small black oblong seeds are up to 6mm (¥in) long with a thickened stalk forming a club-shaped aril.
