Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery leaves are oblong to elliptical with an acuminate apex and a short petiole. The upper surface is dark green and the underside is pale green with a prominent depressed pinnate venation.

Flower: The tree is dioecious and the female urceolate flowers have 6-calyx lobes that are in shade of pink, red with 9-stamens and the male flowers pale in colour, and not showy. The female and male trees are only identified during the flowering period during spring but may vary in tropical climates.

Fruit: The three angled achene has 3-propeller-like wings that are up to 50 mm (2 in) long and cause it to spend as it falls.
