Propagation
Soft tip cuttings during early spring or hardwood cuttings taken during late summer. Place in a well-drained media, and keep warm.


Botanic information
Leaf: The variable dark green leaves are oblong to obovate or elliptical to oblong-lanceolate with a long greenish red petiole and an obtuse apex.

Flower: The tiny flowers are composed of a female flower with a single pistil and several male flowers each with a single stamen. Both are enclosed in an involucre (cyathium) surrounded by large showy bracts that are creamy white. They appear during summer.

Fruit: The 3-valve capsule is an explosive schizocarp and contains the numerous seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
