Propagation
Sow seed when ripe and place in an open frame to germinate and keep moist.
Division of the clump in spring or autumn.


Botanic information
Leaf: The mid green lanceolate leaves are predominately basal with some extending up the floral stem becoming smaller. The apex is acuminate and the base is sheathed.

Flower: The sessile cyathiform flowers have 4-perianth segments that are arranged in 2-whorls with the longer outer up to 12mm (½in) long and resembles a frogs mouth. They are arranged in a branched spike that is held above the foliage on a slender woolly scape and is up to 1m (3ft) tall and appears from summer to autumn.

Fruit: The 3-valved oblong capsule contains viable seeds but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
