Sow fresh seed in shallow water.
Division of the clump (rhizome) during early spring while dormant.


Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green broad ovate leaves are up to 150mm (6in) wide with a cordate base and a petiole up to 195mm (7½in) long. The texture is leathery and the veins radiate from the top of the petiole. When emersed the plant develops underwater leaves.

Flower: The small white crateriform flowers have 3-sepals and petals and contains up to 30 stamens. The flowers are arranged in a arching to decumbent cluster that appears durng late summer.

Fruit: The small plump oblanceolate achene has 3 to 4 ribs and is beaked. The small seeds are viable and germinate readily but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
