Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green narrow linear leaves are up to 10mm (?in) wide and clasp the stem.

Flower: The spikelets are arranged in a whorled panicle up to 500mm (20in) tall and is held above the foliage and appears from spring to summer.

Fruit: The small caryopsis (seeds) are viable but may be difficult to germinate so the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
