Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring in pots and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).
Division of the rhizome during spring.
Basal cuttings during spring and apply bottom heat.
Botanic information
Leaf: The mid green leaves have 5-7 pointed lobes that may be divided again and the surface is covered in fine white hairs. The peduncle is long and the leaf underside is commonly purplish.
Flower: The small cyathiform flowers have 5-oblong sepals and 5-pink to white petals and appear in the leaf axil, solitary or in pairs during summer.
Fruit: The dry capsule is a schizocarp containing multiple carpelsand is indehiscent. The fruit is accompanied by the persistent sepals and commonly with the coiled styles. The tiny seedsare dispersed by wind and water and are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
