Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are narrow-ovate to narrow-lanceolate with an entire undulating margin. The petiole is short and the apex is acuminate. Young leaves and the underside may have a velvety appearance.
Flower: The pendant yellow flowers have a long slender pedicle with spreading petals that form a narrow campanulate corolla. They are arranged terminally appearing from spring to early summer.
Fruit: The 2-locular cylindrical, fleshy berry may be pubescent and is pendant from the end of the branches. The fruit has a sweet flavour but may require roasting prior to eating. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
