Sow fresh seed in a prepared bed and keep moist.
Botanic information
Leaf: Ligule: Parchment to 1.3mm, truncate
Collar: Narrow to medium-broad, glabrous
Auricles: absent
Vernation: Rolled, The bright green linear leaves have a soft texture with scabrous margins.
Flower: The inflorescence is open and loose, panicle-like and the uncrowded spikelets are purplish. The glumes are obtuse and are spreading after flowering during late summer.
Fruit: The tiny caryopsis (seeds) are very viable.
