Propagation
Surface sow fresh seed during spring in a well-drained media, and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out and pot up when they are large enough to handle.

Botanic information
Leaf: The juvenile leaves are sessile dark green above and pale below. The dark green adult leaves are falcate to lanceolate and are up to 20mm (µin) wide, concolorous with a short petiole. When crushed the leaves have a peppermint odour.

Flower: The white flowers have an operculum that is conical-acute. There are 7 to 15 flowers arranged in an axillary umbel that has a peduncle up to 10mm (?in) long and appear during early summer.

Fruit: The ovoid to ellipsoid capsule has a short pedicle and contains many tiny seeds.


General pruning information

Eucalyptusspecies require little pruning apart from removal of damaged or dead wood, which should be taken off at the collar. If the tree is cut back hard it will produce epicormic shoots and the crown may be lifted or thinned by removal of selected branches.
