Botanic information
Leaf: The mid green lanceolate leaves have an acuminate apex and a spft texture.
Ligule
: membranous, short
Collar: Continuous, broad but narrow across mid rib. Vernation: Folded. Auricles: Absent
Texture: Course, blade covered in sparse hairs.
Generally the leaf has a glossy lush appearance.

Flower: The tiny flowers are arranged in a digitate spike that is up to 50mm (2in) tall and 40mm (1½in) long. The flowering period is in summer but may vary in sub-tropical to tropical regions.

Fruit: The caryopsis (seed) is not commercially available and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
