Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º to 64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery blue green leaves are obovate to oblong and are commonly notched at the obtuse apex. The petiole is short and the leaf is up to 25mm (1in) wide.

Flower: The papillionate flowers have a backward curving standard petal and a long narrow keel. They are arranged in a terminal or axillary cluster during early spring and the colour is red or occasionally with yellow tinges.

Fruit: The flat oblong legume is up to 16mm (?in) wide and contains hard coated seeds.
