Propagation
Seeds require scarification by nicking the seed coat and soaking in water for 24 hours.

Semi-hardwood cuttings of non-flowering shoots during spring or autumn and placed on a misting bench.


Botanic information
Leaf: The variable dull green leaves are narrow-elliptical to oblong or linear with a mucronate apex. The margin is entire to recurve and the upper surface is pubescent when young. The underside in densely grey pubescent and the petiole is short.

Flower: The cyathiform flower has a pedicle up to 6mm (¥in) longwith spreading semicircular perianth segments up to 8mm (?in) long, both villous. The flowers are arranged in a terminal pendant cluster up to 50mm (2in) long and appear for late winter to early spring.

Fruit: The ovoid follicle is up to 7mm (¥in) wide with a villous pericarp and contains an oblong seed to 12mm (½in) long and has recurved margins. This shrub regenerates from seed or lignotuber after fire.
