Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification (peeling treatment).
Semi-hardwood tip cuttings taken during summer apply bottom heat.
Botanic information
Leaf: The sessile lobed leaves are twice or three times divided into pointed linear curved lobes, that are up to 3mm wide. The leaf may also be linear and simple. The margins are revolute almost enclosing the whitish underside and the mid vien is promenant.
Flower: The tubulate flower pedicle is up to 6mm (¥in) long and there are 4-oblong perianth segments that are spreading, revealing a flattened style. The flowers are arranged in an inflorescence that is sessile or with a short peduncle and is axillary or terminal. They appear during spring.
Fruit: The oblong follicle is up to 6mm (¥in) wide with a warty thin pericarp. The smooth oblong seeds are up to 7mm (¥in) long and convex on both sides. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
