Botanic information
Leaf: The sessile dark green leaves are oblong to elliptical up to 15mm (?in) wide and has a mucronate apex. The texture is stiff-leathery and the surface is almost glabrous. The new growth is reddish
Flower: The tubulate flower has strongly curved perianth segments and an exserted pubescent style that is up to 20mm (µin) long.They are arranged in a sessile cluster up to 40mm (1µin) long that is terminal or axillary, appearing from winter to spring.
Fruit: The sessile elliptical follicle is up to 4mm (?in) wide. The oblong seeds are up to 12mm (½in) long with a wing around the margin. The small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
