Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification and may take up to 2 year to germinate.
Cuttings taken during summer.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are linear to lanceolate or oblong, boarding towards the acute apex and the tapering base is sessile. It is up to 6mm (¥in) wide and the surface is commonly covered in whitish hairs.

Flower: The sepals are covered in stellate tomentose and the tubulate flower has a broad lower lip and a 4-lobed upper lip with 4 red protruding stamens. It is solitary and pendant with a pedicle up to 10mm (?in) long, in the leaf axils towards the end of the branchlets from winter to spring.

Fruit: The 2 to 4 chambered hard and woody drupe is indehiscent, dry and sometimes splitting at the apex. There are 1 to 3 hard-coated seeds per chamber and they are difficult to germinate. The plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
