Semi-hardwood cuttings taken during summer apply bottom heat.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are ovate-oblong to ovate-lanceolate up to 12mm (½in) wide with an acute apex and an obtuse base. The petiole is up to 33mm (1¥in) long and the upper surface has a wrinkled texture. The underside is covered in a yellowish tomentose.
Flower: The small rotate flowers have 5-petals and stamens with yellow anthers and are arranged in a flat-topped terminal cyme. The pedicle is covered in brownish tomentose and the flower buds appear up to 10-months prior to opening in late spring.
Fruit: The small oval drupe is red maturing to black and is not commonly used. The small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
